Citi Confronts Global Fallout as US Nears Deal on Stake

California had most mass layoffs in January
California shed more workers than any other state because of mass layoffs, with 54150 losing their jobs last month. It was followed by New York at 31890, Pennsylvania at 29660 and Ohio at 27970, according to a report by the US Bureau of Labor

TJX Net Falls 17%, Topping Streets Estimates
TJX Companies (TJX), which operates TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods chains across the US, saw a 17% drop in the fourth quarter and said it wouldn’t issue a full-year sales forecast given the precarious state of the economy.
